The eye for the extraordinary
My name is Christian Arthur Hofer. Even as a little boy, I was fascinated by cars. Every year, I would buy the car magazines where you could stick in pictures of the cars, and I was always the first among my friends to finish the album.
The shapes and features of a car fascinated me so much that, even as a 10-year-old boy, I could recognize cars at night just by their lights in the darkness, and I could quickly identify the model as well. This passion never left me, and as I got older, I began taking photographs—and of course, it made sense to photograph cars. I'm fascinated by the story behind a car and the aesthetic development of the entire automotive industry. In my photos, I like to show a detail or section of a vehicle. Most of the time, it's the distinctive features that define the character of a car or by which it can be recognized. For a car enthusiast like me, every vehicle has a soul and a story—and that's what makes a car interesting. I never expected my photos and videos to resonate so much with others, but when you do something with passion and love, the viewer can feel that too.
Creativity in all aspects is an important part of my life, as is music, which has accompanied me throughout my life and, in a way, also guides me through it.
